Windstream Holdings, Inc., also doing business as Windstream Communications, often referred to simply as Windstream, is a provider of voice, data and network communications. They also provide managed services to many businesses in the United States. With assets listed from $10B to $50 billion, Windstream filed for bankruptcy on February 25th, 2019.  With a valuation in the billions of dollars, there’s a significant customer base affected by this news, so any information about Windstream alternatives couldn’t come at a better time. Bloomberg reported the **[following](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-02-25/windstream-files-bankruptcy-after-losing-aurelius-default-fight)**: > Windstream Holdings Inc.’s downfall could bring financial chaos to the rural phone company, enrich Aurelius Capital Management LP by about $310 million and revive debate about whether some debt investors are making money by unfairly disrupting companies, credit markets and consumers. Windstream filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after losing in court to Aurelius. Aurelius is a New York hedge fund that was suing the company over whether Windstream had defaulted on its bonds by spinning off Uniti Group Inc. in 2015.  Windstream has said the news will not affect their customer service in any way. A provider like Windstream having trouble and potentially disappearing from the technology map could be a huge hit to many companies. CIOs or CTOs may feel overwhelmed and consider this a good time to explore alternatives. ## Windstream Alternatives 3 Tree Tech (that’s us) based in the USA is a thoroughbred IT consultancy and we have already put a roll-over process in place to help even the largest Fortune companies rollover to new Windstream alternatives and superior technologies.
